Addict2Addict Feedback

I’m someone who struggled deeply with addiction, feeling trapped and desperate for help. Around me, few understood what it meant to want to get sober—many didn’t share the same responsibilities or reasons to change. Getting sober meant walking away from everything and everyone I cared about: family, friends, my entire world. That was terrifying. I had young children depending on me, needing me to be present in their lives. In those moments, I felt completely alone, stuck, and hopeless—praying every day for the strength to stop. Fear held me back too—I was scared to seek help because I feared losing my children. I hated myself for repeatedly choosing substances over my family and my life. I was losing myself and desperately needed someone to care for me when I couldn’t care for myself. I had no one to turn to—a friend, a peer, or just an understanding soul who wouldn’t judge. Now that I’ve made it through, I want to be that person for others still suffering. If you’re struggling, know you are not alone, and there is someone ready to listen and support you without judgment.
